The Journey of 'IDEAS 2000' is now on The Road to 'IDEAS 2002' to render its continual services for the development of the international defence industry.
'IDEAS' is: A mission to promote the awareness, research and development of defensive technologies, to enhance their trade and availability and to implement safety measures by utilizing all means and sources to increase the power of defensive forces.
The primary objective of the series of biennial events is the promotion of research, development and production of arms and ammunition, strictly for defence purposes. It, also includes a host of other gadgetries and advanced technologies created by innovative thought and unparalleled effort of Research & Development. This promotion in turn aims at the development and progress of the defence industry of Pakistan, which has a very promising future for the country.
Ever since the inauguration of this mega event in 2000, the defence industry of Pakistan has made remarkable progress. The Defence Export Promotion Organisation (DEPO) has been setup to meet the increasing international demand for high-quality arms produced by Pakistan's public and private sector companies. In connection with these exports, Pakistan signed a number of agreements with countries from the Middle East, South East Asia and Africa.
Pakistan possesses the expertise in production of arms and ammunition, ensuring continued development in the defence industry. It was through this high profile event that it promoted the defence industry of Pakistan on the international government level; hence increasing the global awareness of the same.
The military ties of Pakistan with other countries have also strengthened significantly from the platform of this exhibition. A memorandum of understanding has been agreed upon by China and Pakistan on re-strengthening the military cooperation and collaboration in the manufacture of defence systems and equipments. Additionally, this show has been responsible for the agreement between Turkey as well as Romania and Pakistan on the joint supply of defence items. A series of visits and meetings with over 40 high level delegates from around 30 countries including France, Italy, Saudi Arabia, Malaysia, and China prides IDEAS and its organisers for being the initiators in converging the geo-politically significant nations from across the globe in Pakistan.
In its continual service to the international defence industry and the cause for peace, the journey of IDEAS 2000 progresses to 2002', aiming at the very same prospect. Much like its namesake and its predecessor, 'IDEAS 2002' is a defence exhibition that matches the contemporary standards of any other international defence seminar or exhibition. All the major countries of the world are invited to this biennial event, scheduled from 17th to 20th September 2002.
Availing the benefits accrued in 2000, and keeping the prospect to immense achievements furthermore, the event will bring together manufacturers and suppliers from around the world to explore the opportunities for cooperation in the field of defence production. It shall facilitate commonality of weapons and equipment for the effective integration of defence forces worldwide.
The event is equipped to address the collective issues of security and cooperation between nations that are separated by culture and geography. Pakistan's proximity and brotherly ties with the Islamic nations, along with its major role as a frontline state in the fight against terrorism makes the 2002 event the ideal platform for nations to discuss the importance of defence-support services and equipment that are needed by transnational forces for any intended defence operations. As states the theme, the event for 2002 shall also keep its focus on technologies that can be used for international defence systems, against all offences.
The entire responsibility of managing and organising this mega event is Pegasus Consultancy (Pvt.) Ltd. The company has proven its mettle via its outstanding and outclass performance that made the IDEAS journey an epic. Thus, the team also now strives to make the 2002 event a landmark.
With an attendance of well over 15,000 reputed trade visitors, over 200 companies from 30 different countries - including France, Italy, Turkey, U.A.E., Russia and China - and overwhelming 40 worldwide delegations in the last exhibition, this year's event also promises to be the biggest trade exhibition in Pakistan to date, an event not to be missed for the world.
With the organisational efforts and marketing campaign that made 'IDEAS 2000' the event of the year, Pegasus Consultancy - with the cooperation of the Government of Pakistan and Pakistan Armed Forces - is once again on the road to 'IDEAS 2002' - the only event on the defence line of action that could succeed IDEAS 2000.
