Introduction
The battle
of KANWAHA is considered a decisive battle which
established BABAR as the Emperor of HINDUSTAN.
It was fought between RANA SANGA of MEWAR, the
most powerful RAJPUT ruler of HINDUSTAN and ZAHEERUD-DIN
MOHAMMAD BABAR on 16th March 1527 AD
at KANWAHA situated west of AGRA. RANA SANGA had
the support of a dozen RAJAS, many RAJPUT chiefs
and some Muslim rulers of neighbouring states.
RANA SANGA
was a brave warrior and a veteran of many successful
battles. In the battle of KANWAHA, RANA SANGA’s
army was about 5 times stronger. But BABAR was
also a veteran of numerous battles and proved
a better general in strategy and tactics, and
above all, his outstanding leadership qualities
won him a resounding victory which, once and for
all removed the menace of RAJPUT supremacy.....more
