Reference Z .A Khan's remarks on Page 55, Defence Journal, May '98, highlighted in the Box.

Tim Weiner writing in the 'New York Times Week in Review' 'answers' for me :

'Intelligence community thinks in herds 'Stay close. Don't get out ahead... There is a tremendous lack of diversity of mind. The most typical phrase in an intelligence estimate is 'we believe - that corporate belief -- NOT 'I think'.

The incident written by Z A Khan is not only false, but fabricated. There never was a Military Operations Directorate representation, attended by General Musa with commander S.S.G. (Mehdi - S. G.) being present. I am not going to let Z A get away with it. May I request you to select/chose from 'Mehdi Papers' Serial 3 - article titled: 'Aware without intent' -- or 'A matter of Honour, for your issue(s) September Issue would be ideal.

Not immediately available in my analysis, titled : 'Role of S.S.G. and Para- commandos in 1965 War', published by 'Outlook'. This shall be sent to you in the next few days.
